HOUSTON, TX - The Texas Medical Center is famous for many things. It's the largest of its kind in the world, treating 8 million patients a year, and spending more than $2 billion annually on research.
What TMC is not know for, however, is turning that research into new drugs and life-saving devices. That is, until now, thanks to JLabs. Houston-based Procyrion will be housed in one of the 21 facilities at JLabs and under the direction of a Medical Center regular, Dr. Reynolds Delgado. He invented Aortix, a kinder, simpler way to keep the blood flowing through the heart while patients wait what could be years for a transplant.
