Jennifer Cowger, MD, MS

Jennifer Cowger, MD, MS is the Medical Director of the Mechanical Circulatory Support Program and Co-Director of the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit at Henry Ford Hospital. She is also an Associate Professor at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. She attended medical school at Ohio State University, then completed her residency at Duke University and cardiology fellowship at the University of Michigan. She also holds a masters in statistics from the University of Michigan. Dr. Cowger focuses on caring for patients with cardiomyopathy as well as those who have had — or are being considered for — a heart transplant or a heart left ventricular assist device (LVAD). She also specializes in cardiac sarcoidosis and cardiac amyloidosis. To ensure her patients have access to the latest therapies, she participates in clinical research and is an active member of prominent cardiac societies such as the American College of Cardiology, the Heart Failure Society of American, and the International Society for Heart and Lung Transplant.
